We had a speaker at church today, she's a photographer who has been using her gifts to serve God in a way that moved me...made me realize that He can use us in ANY way with the gifts that He's blessed us with.
Her project (http://www.originphotography.org/through_their_lens) was to teach Malawi children the skills of photography and see beauty in Malawi through the eyes of God through the camera lens. These are young children between ages 11-14 and to see the pictures displayed were touching. They weren't professional pictures, but they definitely captured Malawi. It made me want to go!
I walked out of church asking God to use my gifts to teach others, to serve Him wherever it may be. These days I'm struggling to be content with living in Portland and interning. It's been a challenge to work with a challenging person. Then I talked to a classmate who said the Seattle internship position was open and I got really excited, thinking "maybe....maybe, I can take it", but I highly doubt it, it's almost too late. But I realized how much I wanted to get out of here, how much I want to be in a place where people love and care for me, a Christian community...
...maybe this is the way it was supposed to be.
